What is fine blanking die?

Fine blanking die is designed for precise shearing process, which is used to obtain smooth shear surface and high accuracy of micrometer.
The fine blanking die has unique features: The material is constrained by impingement ring, which is V-shaped edge ring along the product’s contour, to prevent crack occurring during the shearing process.
Moreover, counter punch is mounted in the die to prevent crinkle at the work piece.
With this, the hydraulic pressure is applied on the work piece and ductility of the material is improved during the forming process.
This enables to achieve smooth shear surface and high accuracy of micrometer.
This forming process is called “Fine blanking process (FB process)”
