Since our founding in 1949, we have grown alongside dies and special-purpose machines.

A manufacturing journey continuing since 1949.

From our founding in Nagoya through the opening of the Komaki Plant, early adoption of NC and CAD/CAM, and ISO certification, we have continued our history as a specialist manufacturer of dies and special-purpose machines while updating our equipment and technology.

01 · FOUNDING

Founding and establishing our sites

1949 – 1969
  1. 1949 June

    Tatsuji Kondo established MUTSUMI INDUSTRY CO., LTD. to manufacture various dies, special-purpose machines, hydraulic presses, and hydraulic machinery.

  2. 1957 July

    The headquarters and plant moved from Chikusa-ku to Kita-ku, Nagoya

  3. 1961 March

    Opened the Komaki Plant

    Introduced advanced machinery and began production as a die-specialist plant

  4. 1967 March

    Komaki Plant: Second plant completed

    Strengthened equipment for more precise and larger dies and began production

  5. 1969 November

    The headquarters building was completed for the 20th anniversary

    Expanded the sales and general affairs departments and employee welfare facilities

    Introduced NC machines ahead of other companies

    Full-scale introduction of NC machines

  3. 1984 December

    Introduced a CAD system for die design

  4. 1988 March

    Full-scale introduction of a CAD/CAM system

  5. 1991 April

    The Nagoya Plant was completely rebuilt as a state-of-the-art facility

  6. 1997 April

    Started the Komaki Plant equipment renewal plan
