01 · What is a compound die?

We consolidate downstream operations such as tapping, riveting, and assembly into a single die.

We design the die so that pressing and downstream operations can be performed in a single die, reducing changeovers and component handling between processes.

Whether processes can be consolidated depends on the product geometry, material, production volume, and the press you use. We review product drawings or the actual product and propose a die configuration and process division suited to production conditions.

Tapping: We have experience with sizes from M3 to M8 and support materials including SPC and SUS.

Part assembly (bolts, nuts, and balls): We have experience with bolt sizes M5–M6. Nuts and balls can also be assembled, and we can propose feeding equipment as well.

Suitability depends on product geometry, material, production volume, and the press you use. Based on drawings or the actual product, we propose whether consolidation is advantageous and explain why when it is difficult.
Q Can we consult you just about process improvement and cost reduction?
Yes. We can discuss not only compound dies but also die-configuration reviews and process consolidation from a VA/VE perspective. We start by understanding how you currently manufacture the product.
Q Can we also discuss custom automation systems and special-purpose machines as part of the same consultation?
Yes. Because we handle both dies and custom automation systems and special-purpose machines in-house, we can discuss improvements covering the processes before and after the die as a whole.
