Press Dies

We build press dies such as progressive, single-operation, transfer, and LP dies to match the product and production conditions.
We handle the entire process in-house, from design and analysis through fabrication and tryout.

01 · When you need this

We support your stable, precise and cost-effective stamping production by die making.

I want to make a die for a new product

We review the product drawing, quantity, and press in use and consider a die configuration suited to production.

Reduce cracking and wrinkling

Formability analysis and tryouts help identify production risks before the die is built.

Scope of support

Die typeProgressive dies / single-operation dies / transfer dies / LP dies / compound dies
AnalysisUse formability analysis and virtual tryouts to verify draw marks, wrinkles, and cracks in advance
TryoutTryout on our in-house press (large presses available)
MaintenanceFrom inspection, grinding, and component replacement through disassembly and overhaul. We also accept dies made by other companies.
Additional supportFor production, we can also discuss custom automation systems and special-purpose machines, as well as process consolidation using compound dies.

Specification discussion
STEP 1

Specification discussion

We review the product drawing, quantity, and press in use and propose a die configuration.

Press-die design and analysis
STEP 2

Design and analysis

3D design and formability analysis verify the risk of cracking and wrinkling in advance.

Machining of die components
STEP 3

Machining

We machine parts to high accuracy using machining, wire EDM, and sinker EDM.

Press-die assembly and adjustment
STEP 4

Assembly and adjustment

We assemble the components and tune the movement and accuracy.

Tryout on our in-house press
STEP 5

Tryout and production trial

We try out the die on our in-house press and verify product accuracy. Production trials are also supported.

03 · Our die-making process

Manufacturing based on numerical verification through analysis and measurement

We use analytical technologies to perform the following:

  • Identify forming risks based on the forming limit diagram (FLD)
  • Create blank-development drawings
  • Verify material behavior using the finite element method and the designed die components

We try out the dies we build on our in-house presses and measure the resulting products and layout. We evaluate whether the required quality is met with numerical data rather than a gauge-only judgment.

05 · Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about press dies

Q Can I consult you when I only have a product drawing?
Yes. From the product drawing, quantity, and press information, we propose a die configuration and approximate estimate. Consultation at the concept stage is welcome.
Q Can you make a die for our press?
We design to the specifications of your press, including capacity, die height, and bolster dimensions. Please prepare materials showing the specifications.
Q Can I consult you about whether repair or remaking is better?
Yes. We decide after checking future production volume and duration, die condition, repair cost, and new-die cost. Repair may suit a localized defect, while a new die may be better for long-term production or continuing specification changes.
Q Can you repair a die made by another company?
We receive the die for inspection, repair or overhaul. Even without drawings, we can begin by inspecting the physical die.
Q We cannot stop production. Can you provide an urgent response?
After understanding the symptoms and production plan, we discuss a sequence that minimizes line downtime. We can also separate an interim measure from the full repair.
Q Can you also provide regular maintenance after mass production begins?
Because we know the structure of dies we built ourselves, maintenance is fast. We propose inspection timing based on how each die is used.

Consult us about a new die or an existing die.

If you provide the product drawing, quantity, press, and desired timing, we can propose the die configuration and approach.
